Abundant running water throughout the whole year, countless fruit trees and vegetation resembling jungle at some points, a unique view of the Tzoumerka and Agrafiotika mountains and lower down, the valley of the Arachthos river. It is in this superb place that Rodavgi is nestled. At the highest point of the village and just opposite the place where the sun rises is to be found the Marousio Lodge.
On first impressions the reception area/breakfast room is a winner, with its harmonious co-existence of stone and wood. The fireplace, view and the excellent decor make the lounge an exquisite place to sit and pass the time, any time of the day. The rooms are really spacious, equipped with all mod cons and decorated in especially fine taste, and, most of them have their own fireplace.
Maria Papavasileiou’s and her brother Vasilis’ hospitable attitude and willingness to serve their guests bring to mind traditional Greek hospitality in its finer moments. Apart from the splendid breakfast with its large variety of home-made sweets and jams, the visitor may try the famous aromatic tsipouro of the Zabella variety, excellent pies and some of the more traditional tastes of Greek cooking, such as trahanas (frumenty) with goat or veal. Built at an altitude of 750 metres, the lodge is an ideal destination all times of the year.
